The Zoo Animal Hospital

Susan is the head tech and office manager of the Zoo.  She graduated the Bel-Rea institute in the spring of 2000 as a Certified Veterinary Technician.  She worked in Denver for 3 years including time volunteering at the Denver Dumb Friends League spay and neuter program and at Prarie Winds wild animal rescue.  She has been at the Zoo for since April of 2003 and is truly "the power behind the throne"  and is one of the key reasons that the practice has succeeded.
She is pictured with  Mr. T the Boston Terrier and  Barry the pit bull.  She also has Betsy the mutt, and Paul, her cat.  She enjoys snowboarding with her husband, hiking, and knitting.

Chris graduated from Columbus State Community College in Columbus, OH in 1994 as a Registered Veterinary Technician.  She has worked in a wide variety of practices including at the Albuquerque Zoo.  Amazingly, she worked at the same practice that Dr. Mike worked at while he was going to school in Ohio-- at the same time!  Her accomplishments include helping to establish the new TVI veterinary technician program and serving on the board of the NM technician board at almost every level.  She has been at the Zoo since October of 2005.

Amy is a wonderful receptionist and technician assistant.  She has lived in Edgewood for 13 years and New Mexico her entire life, and has considerable animal experience.  She has two boys and is heavily involved with their sports events. She loves gardening and spending time with her family, including Rumphy seen here.  Amy started in November of 2004.

Vicki has over 10 years of experience as a veterinary receptionist.  In addition to her part time duties at the clinic, she volunteers at the Walking in Circles horse rescue, gardens, and spends time with her children, grandchildren and husband.  She also has 13 cats and 4 dogs-- all rescued!  This is Dinky seen here.
On the side she has created her own business called "Vics Paws to Remember" where she creates wonderful art with a paw print of your pet in clay.  Come in to see examples of her work.

Vicki is another part time receptionist and technician assistant who has been a great addition to our team since March of 2004.  She has extensive animal experience starting as a volunteer at a rural shelter at age 15.  She currently serves as the Edgewood Animal Control Officer and has been a zookeeper at the Albuquerque Zoo, an Animal Shelter Manager, and a trainer.

Vicki volunteered to go to New Orleans and was directly involved in animal rescue there immediately after Hurricane Katrina, and was almost caught by Hurricane Rita!

Her husband Cameron is an animal trainer.  Together they have two Quarter Horses, a Lab, a Red Bone Hound, a German Shepherd, a Chihuahua, three Boston Terriers, a cat, 2 parrots, and a bunch of Chickens.
